Sunrise Pickleball Club is a nonprofit 501(c)(7) organization, established in 2017, that manages and promotes pickleball at Rusch Park in Citrus Heights, a 12-court dedicated facility built through a combination of park-district grants and club fundraising, once the largest dedicated pickleball facility in the Sacramento region. The all-volunteer board runs six-day-a-week drop-in sessions, quarterly round robins, holiday parties, and other social and competitive events for the club’s roughly 650 members. Membership costs $100 a year (or a $1,000 lifetime option), covering access during club drop-in hours on 10 of the 12 courts (courts 9 and 10 remain open to non-members); non-members pay a $10 daily guest fee. Players must bring their own paddle and balls, with loaner paddles available for newcomers and balls sold on-site for $5 per two.
