Tampa Bay Pickleball, now operating as The Pickleball Academy, opened in Oldsmar in 2023 when brothers Kennedy and Ben Klaus built the area’s first fully indoor, climate controlled pickleball facility with professional acrylic courts. The formula is structure: every session is skill level matched on a 2.0 to 5.0 scale, so players face opponents at their own level in organized play rather than random open courts. Lessons, classes, leagues, tournaments, youth programs, and private events fill the calendar, with no mandatory membership required. The concept has grown into a five location network across Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, run on software the company built itself. The Oldsmar original at 180 Race Track Rd remains the flagship.
